Buying Books with Booko

I buy lots of books, most of them technical, and spend about $3k a year at Amazon. In fact, once I found out how easy it was to find and buy books there, it became my only port of call when looking for a book. But a few months ago I wanted a book that I could not get from Amazon and had to look around for some help.

I found a few places that sold books and a few that provided information about book sellers. Of the latter, one that looked interesting to me was an Australian site—Booko—which claims to find the best deals for buying books in Australia. I’ve used their service a few times now and it has been excellent in terms both of finding books that I could not source from Amazon and in finding books at good prices.

Just this morning, a book arrived from England a week after I ordered it and the total cost was $14-86 AUD. It wasn’t a pamphlet, but a 330-page trade paperback. Other purchases have worked out pretty well too. I recommend Booko to Australian book buyers.
